Fillers for face, wrinkles

Fillers are materials placed in deep lines and wrinkles. Fillers as a means are typically used for these wrinkles and can be combined with laser treatments. Fillers are mostly used for wrinkles around the mouth, between eyebrows, cheekbones enhancement or upper and lower lip enhancement. Recesses from acne, smallpox and other recessed scars can also be improved.
FILLER CANDIDATES
Candidates for fillers are younger, business persons between 35 and 55 years of age with visible recesses, deep nasolabial folds, asymmetries, small and deep wrinkles around eyes, forehead, cheeks and nose.
PREOPERATIVE PREPARATION
An examination is needed during which visible signs of ageing or characteristic facial marks are analyzed and meticulously assessed. Interview during the first examination will include a complete anamnesis of possible allergies, earlier surgeries and illnesses (if any), medicines you are currently taking. Taking of aspirin, vitamin E and estrogen hormones are forbidden before the surgery.
FILLER TREATMENT PROCEDURE
Using thin microcannulas wrinkles, nasolabial folds are filled or unevenness of the face is modeled with fillers.
Fillers that are used can be resorptive based on hyaluronic acid (Restyane, Puragen, Captique, Juvederm, etc.) or collagen – bovine collagen (Zyderm and Ziplast), human collagen (Cosmoderm and Cosmoplast) or nonresorptive (Polimetil Metacrilat, Aqamid, etc). Recovery is in few hours.
Radiesse is a filler product consisting of calcium compound called calcium hydroxylapatite. This material is very popular for treatment of smile line. He proved itself as excellent among fillers with results longer than two years. This compound is very popular among many patients with deep wrinkles around mouth who need the results to be more durable.
Sculptra falls into filler category, but it better if it is called skin voluminous enhancer. Injected substance is poly-L-lactic acid.
Finally, Artefill is the first FDA approved permanent filler. It is ideal for patients who want long-lasting filler. Cutaneous trials give a priority to the treatment. Although Artefill gives permanent results, patients will have to have a couple of additional filler treatments since with age their wrinkles will deepen.
COMPLICATIONS
Complications are rare and mostly are contained to swelling and hematoma which pass after a few days. Allergic reactions on foreign body are very rare. Lump creation is also very rare.
POSTOPERATIVE TREATMENT
No special treatment is needed. If swelling appears cold compresses should be used. Washing of the face several times a day after one day. Scars do not exist.
