FACIAL REJUVENATION BY FAT TRANSFER
Facial rejuvenation by fat transfer is a very old procedure. It has gained ups and downs in cosmetic surgery because of the degree of fatty tissue that resorbs.
With new technique of microtransplantation, success rate of the surgery has risen up to 80%, and with some patients even 100%. Dr. Milan Jovanovic prefers this procedure because results are excellent, and own fatty tissue is being used. Also, for the patients the procedure is much cheaper than, for example, using the resorptive fillers.
CANDIDATES FOR FACIAL FAT GRAFTING
Most ideal candidates are younger persons between 35 and 55 years of age with visible dents, asymmetries, small and deep wrinkles around eyes, forehead, cheeks and nose.
PREOPERATIVE PREPARATION
Facial rejuvenation by fat transfer requires an examination during which visible signs of ageing or characteristic facial features are analyzed and meticulously assessed. Interview with Dr. Jovanovic during the first examination will cover the complete medical history of earlier surgeries and illnesses (if applicable), medicines you are currently taking, possible allergies. Based on medical examination and health history further indication is determined as to prevent complications. Use of the aspirin, vitamin E and estrogen hormones is forbidden before the surgery.
SURGICAL TECHNIQUE
Using special technique a planned amount of fat cells is aspirated by thin cannulas, which are prepared for liposculpture using special procedure. After that, fat cells are injected using microcannulas modeling the face according to earlier agreement with the patient. Recovery last a few hours.
COMPLICATIONS
Complications are rare and mostly come up to swelling and bruising that passes after a few days. Later it can come up to fat tissue resorption.
POSTOPERATIVE TREATMENT
A special treatment is not needed. If swelling appears, cold compresses should be used. Washing the face several times during the day after one day. Surgical incisions are smaller than 1 mm. Scars are invisible.
