How to find out whether the baby feels good in the womb? Is he experiencing a lack of oxygen or any other problems? How not to miss the first wake-up calls that the baby is uncomfortable?
Cardiotocography (CTG) is one of the most informative and safe methods of prenatal diagnosis of the fetus. The study is based on the Doppler method - the ultrasound sensor registers the future baby’s heart rate (in motion and resting state) during uterine contractions and in response to external factors, and the strain gauge detects the intensity of uterine contractions.
Due to its high information content, safety and ease of research, CTG is widely used in antenatal clinics and maternity homes. However, the accuracy of the results of cardiotocography depends on the type and class of equipment.
The study is carried out on the equipment of expert class: Sonicaid FM 820 Encore fetal monitor for registration of cardiac activity (HR), fetal motor activity and uterine contractile activity in single and multiple pregnancy with automatic analysis of antenatal CTG, taking into account the gestational age from 24 weeks to development of regular labor activity.
Carrying out CTG is recommended starting from the 32nd week of gestation, in case of complicated pregnancy – starting from the 28th.
