MY NAME IS DIMITRY DEMENTIEV AND I’M AN EYE SURGEON

I’m a practising ophthalmic surgeon and scientist-developer of techniques and tools for phakic correction of myopia and hyperopia. I’ve been working in this field for more than 30 years.

I started my career by working with the great Professor Fedorov. The School of Ophthalmology under Professor Fedorov gave an impetus to the entire global evolution of ophthalmology and was the foundation of all breakthrough technologies that are used in the world today. And I was one of the few surgeons whom Professor Fedorov allowed to perform operations, because it required the special talent of a surgeon and the unique ability to control hands, and I always had these skills. Since then, ophthalmology has become my passion. I’ve been living for ophthalmology every day: this is my hobby, my life, my job.

I was the head of the International School for Teaching the technique of Implantation of intraocular phakic lenses, organized by Carl Zeiss. Right now I’m working at the Eye Diagnostics and Microsurgery clinic in Milan. Futhermore, I’m a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and have a merit diploma from this association.

Welcome to my blog and let's dive into the world of ophthalmology together!
